Two of Dot Net Solutions’ very own have recently been busy writing a book on Azure, which has just been published. Dan Scarfe and Marcus Tillett teamed up with Stephen Parker to write one of a new series of “Thinking of” books.
The table of contents gives a brief flavour of the book, which is written in a very condensed style. Giving as much information, as quickly as possible.
1 Major players in IT are spending billions on the Cloud – why?
2 Could I have a platform in the sky? Sure that’ll be $5bn
3 Sounds great – let’s go?
4 Ask the Smart Questions
5 What do I need to read?
6 Questions for suits
7 Questions for jeans
8 Funny you should say that
9 Time for Action
10 Appendix – References
Although covering a leading edge area of the IT industry this book is not a technical guide. It is aimed squarely at those who need to understand where the Windows Azure Platform fits within the world of technology and how it can be used to deliver value to businesses. It is also aimed at architects and senior technologists who are looking at the Windows Azure Platform.
As well as an introduction to “the Cloud”, it provides more than 250 “smart” questions you might need to ask when considering Azure. Is Azure right for my business? Is Azure right for my Customers? How much is it going to cost? And how can I have it for less?
The book is available to buy from all good bookshops, well actually all good online bookshops. Here are a couple of links:
