Dot Net Solutions is featured within the Financial Times. CEO Dan Scarfe argues that business planning is analagous to software planning - something which is very challenging. Agile development encourages short, iterative development periods, something which works equally well in business planning.
“Writing software, or starting a new business, is incredibly difficult to plan for,” he says. “You’re effectively trying to second guess exactly what you may want down the line, based on marketing conditions and varying customer demand.”
Twitter, Facebook and cloud computing were not even concepts six years ago, Scarfe notes, so there would be no way he could have planned for them.
